Abstract :
In this paper, an intelligent excitation controller is proposed for the generator, to damp the subsynchronous resonant (SSR) frequency oscillations. The proposed controller´s performance is tested on the IEEE second benchmark model for subsynchronous resonance studies. A bypass filter is also included as an aid to the excitation controller in countering the induction generator effect
