Abstract
Traditional model suspension systems of the wind tunnel experiment to determine dynamic derivatives are summarized. And the development of cable-mounted suspension systems is stated and its feasible calculation method of aerodynamic force/torque by a balance between the scale model and the cable connectors is analyzed in detail at the first time. After analysis of the difference between wire-driven parallel suspension systems and cable-mounted suspension systems, the advantages of WDPSS are presented and the state-of-art is given. The 2 issues including the connection manner among the model, the balance and the strut as well as the identification of dynamic derivatives based on calculation of the aerodynamic force/torque are investigated. The research results will be helpful for further study of WDPSS for used in forced oscillation experiments in low-speed wind tunnels.
