Abstract :
Grounded upon the analysis of the three typical characteristics of Chinese farmers, namely, the variety of business channels, the extensiveness of business fields, and the multilayer of business skills, since the reform and opening to the outside world, this paper put forward the idea that Chinese farmers should accommodate themselves to technological revolution, the industrial transformation and upgrade, and the fierce competition in the present markets. Therefore, opinions that the government should formulate favorable policies for farmers in starting their own business, that systematic vocational education involving both urban and rural areas should be established, and that the farmers should be trained and cultivated in their enterprising qualities so as to improve their competence and efficiency in starting various undertakings, were presented in the following studies.
