Abstract
Robotic systems that assist users by crossing a street safely and automatically would benefit people with vision and/or mobility impairments. This paper describes progress toward a street-crossing system for an assistive robotic system. The system detects and tracks vehicles in real time. It reasons about extracted motion regions in order to decide when it is safe to cross.
