Contributions to the Grid infrastructure for e-Science communities

The paper presents the evolution of the e-Science oriented Grid infrastructure provided by the Distributed Computing - Infrastructures and Services (DICIS) Research Team in ICI: coordination of the Romanian participation in the FP7 European project SEE-GRID eInfrastructure for regional e-Science, operation management of the Romanian sites included in the European Grid Infrastructure for e-Science, administration of the RO-01-ICI site included in the National Grid Infrastructure, set up and administration of the Grid enabled Virtual Organization GridMOSI for modeling, simulation and optimization, coordination of the PEGAF project aimed at providing support for the workflow oriented applications development and execution on the Grid infrastructure. The significant upgrade of the RO-01-ICI site and provision of a MATLAB^® platform with distributed computing capabilities are the most recent results in this evolution, implemented with the financial support of a structural funds grant.
