Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have used a programmable deformable mirror pulse shaper to correct for high-order phase distortions resulting from >100 mm of optical material, mirrors, stretcher distortions, in an amplifier system. We are currently working to broaden the amplified spectrum to take full advantage of the pulse shaper, and to use this amplifier to get transform-limited 16 fs pulses, with 6 mJ of energy, at 1 kHz.
