Abstract
Pendulum systems with decaying sinusoidal input functions are examined. Earlier studies of the system dealt with theoretical predictions of (truncated) fractal deformations in the basin boundaries and also the existence of diffeomorphisms between basins when a single parameter was changed. Here, the authors present simulation evidence that show the unraveling of the truncated fractal basin boundary. A three machine power system, one application area of these pendulum systems, is reduced to a three-body problem, a critical parameter set is identified, and a simulation of a fractally deformed basin is shown.<>
