Title :
Every drop counts: A business case for hydrometeorological monitoring for hydro-electricity production
Author :
Smith, Stephanie ; Weber, Frank
Abstract :
Hydrometric and climate data provide tremendous value in assessing and reducing the key risks to a hydro-electric utility business. Monitoring networks set up in the past no longer meet the needs of the present. In order to meet present needs and plan for the future, we need to assess the suitability of the current monitoring networks and identify the gaps in our current knowledge. To fill the gaps, we need to work in partnership with other agencies, academics and research institutions.
