Abstract :
A fault accommodation method for a class of nonlinear flight control system which can be changed into output-feedback form is proposed using a neural-network-based adaptive observer. The system faults can be detected through the residual generated by the proposed observer, then the obtained estimation is used to reconfigure the control law to compensate the fault. The stability of system is guaranteed by Lyapunov theory. Simulation results of an aircraft example have verified the performance of the method
