Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a multiple schedules based channel access method for enhancing channel utilization in VANET. We have defined four different scheduled time periods to access to the control channel which is called a phase. Each sync interval has four phases, and each phase has a listen period and access period. In our mechanism some nodes are in listen period, some are in access period so that it allows all channels can be used all the time. In the simulation study we show that the proposed approach can increase service channel utilization and reduce the collisions in control channel. Especially, our method will be very effective for slow motion and high density VANET networks.
