Abstract :
Interference scenario and methodology between an earth station (ES) of fixed-satellite service (FSS) and a fixed wireless system (FWS) in the terrestrial fixed service (FS) in a co-channel environment in X-band are established. Taking into account path loss between two systems and long-term and short-term protection criteria for FWS, we performed computational simulation to obtain required separation distance for adequate protection of FWS. The methodology and results would be useful when considering new frequency allocations to FSS in X-band to which FS has been allocated and planning ES deployment for FSS without unacceptable interference impact on FWS.
