Abstract :
Automatic flight control system is the core on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The flight performance of UAV depends on the quality of designed flight control law to a great extent. Therefore, it is of great significance to study automatic flight control system. The paper discusses the application of Hierarchical Dynamic Inversion (HDI) in the design of a flight control system for fixed-wing UAV. Aiming at the DHC-2 ‘Beaver’, flight simulation involving the Book-shaped trajectory tracking is carried out. Ultimately, the HDI system was compared with the PID system and the results showed that the former has better performance in terms of stability, operability, and accuracy.
