Abstract
The deregulated power industry in the US and in other countries is facing constant shifts in the business rules stemming from the legislative changes. That in turn produces the need for changes in operational paradigms and in the underlying data models and communication methods. To achieve these goals, new technologies have to be deployed. This paper presents changes of paradigms and models happening to the scheduling aspect of the electricity trading business. Although illustrated with US examples, concepts are pertinent to all countries undergoing power utilities restructuring process
