Abstract :
Because of the limitation of linear controllers used in the present development stage, model reduction of electric load simulator with a high-order nonlinear model becomes the basis of control system design. To solve this problem, Balanced Truncation is proposed in this paper as the improvement of traditional Dominant Poles for model reduction. An analysis method of model reduction error based on H∞ norm is also researched to evaluate the reduction effect of different ways. A synthesis error including linearization error and order reduction error can be obtained and analysed finally. Compared with Dominant Poles, the superiority of Balanced Truncation in model reduction of electric load simulator is testified by the experimental verification.
