Abstract :
Resource allocation in a radio access network is always the essential issue that most network providers need to focus on. Especially in the future networks, with the contradiction between limited radio resource and increasing new services, efficient resource allocation scheme needs to be introduced to satisfy users´ QoS demands. In this paper, we focus on optimizing the network bandwidth allocation algorithm based on user´s satisfactory level when the radio access network is overloaded with an incapability to satisfy every user´s bandwidth requirement. We firstly derive a mathematical quantification of user´s satisfactory level, and then develop the summation of each user´s satisfactory level as a criterion to evaluate the performance of the resource allocation algorithm. An algorithm that maximizes the summation of each user´s satisfactory level is proposed. And the performance of our proposed algorithm is compared with the existing resource allocation algorithm. Results show that our proposed algorithm improves the existing bandwidth allocation algorithm based on user´s satisfactory level.
