Abstract :
The closed-form expressions for the radiated property of FPR antenna with PMC ground plane are derived from a simple transmission line model. The comparative results for Fabry-Perot Resonator (FPR) antenna with PMC and PEC ground plane are also presented. Theoretically, the pattern bandwidth and half-power beamwidth of FPR antenna with PMC ground is twice as much of that with PEC ground plane, though having the same maximum of far field. The original results obtained here leads to a design method for getting the maximum directivity and bandwidth of this kind of resonator antenna.
