Abstract
In this paper, a new approach for removing redundant components from reconfigurable antennas is presented. The approach is based on graph models and it minimizes the number of electronic components used. As an example, a reconfigurable U-Koch microstrip antenna is investigated and redundant switches are removed. The antenna is redesigned and the performance of the optimized prototypes is tested and compared with the original configuration.
