Abstract
Ray-tracing model is used to investigate the spectral efficiency of MIMO antenna array systems in a rectangular space representing a typical short-range geometry that could apply to an indoor wireless application. Results are presented from simulations in which small positional adjustments were made on individual array elements at the receiver, to improve the efficiency of the system. These adjustments were done using the Metropolis algorithm to iteratively search for improvements
