Abstract :
CFD(Computational fluid dynamic) approach has been used to investigate laminar flow caused by long cylinder rotating around its mid-point. Several numerical methods dealing with solid motion in fluid, including some CFD methods and one FEM(Finite element method), have been compared. The relationship between cylinder length, rotation speed, fluid viscosity and resisting fluid torque has been researched. Fluid resisting torque has been tested. Combined with equipment data, finally nano-wire rotation resistance torque model is obtained.
