Abstract :
Modelling user movement plays an important role in simulations of wireless communication networks. The distribution and movement of users influences network issues, including handover, offered traffic and signalling which are important in planning and performance assessment of wireless networks. Without realistic modelling of node mobility, evaluation of performance of mobile networks may not correlate well with performance in a real deployment. This paper is a demonstration of synthetic aggregate mobility models used in the simulations of wireless networks. The proposed simulations attempt to accurately represent realistic node movement. The models incorporate real-life parameters to achieve enhanced network analysis; as network protocol performance should be assessed with the mobility model that most closely matches the expected real-world scenario
