Abstract :
This paper presents the concepts of distributed architectures of on-board power supply for electronic cards employing high-speed, low-voltage and high-current integrated circuits. Key features of the proposed architectures include single-stage power conversion for independently regulated multiple outputs, reduced number of power components, on-board power distribution in the form of high-voltage and low-current, reduced PCB area occupation by the power supply and power distribution tracks, power conversion into the required low-voltage and high-current at the point-of-load for better regulation, etc. The implementations of the architectures are given, their steady state and dynamic properties are characterized, and the performances are examined. Experimental and simulation results are presented as proof of concept.
