Abstract :
The temporal variation and spatial distribution of surface temperature of metallic gadolinium during electron beam evaporation have been measured simultaneously by using a high-speed video camera coupled with a band-pass filter. The temperature was determined from the recorded radiation intensity. The temporal variation of the surface temperature will cause a significant fluctuation of atomic beam
