Abstract :
Summary form only given. A high acquisition rate and spatial resolution of OCT imaging make it an excellent candidate to provide guidance for surgical and other treatments. Concrete implementation of the method in this problem and identification of areas of clinical interest are in the agenda of the current OCT development. Here, the authors report first promising results on intraoperative OCT monitoring and guidance in electrosurgery, laser surgery, and cryodestruction of human internal organs. The authors also present results on OCT observation of the tissue regeneration process following the above treatments and gamma-therapy.
