  • Abstract
Several fractal parameters have intrinsic differences between natural background and the man-made targets. These fractal differences present us a new approach for target detection. The research indicates that it is an effective method for detecting the man-made objects from a simple background by using a single fractal feature. For target detection in complexity environment, we calculate the differential box-counting (DBC) of the image according to Sarkar and Chaudhuri´s approach, and then use the probabilistic relaxation iteration algorithms (PRIA) to enhance the fractal features. Experimental results demonstrate the proposed method is feasible and effective
