Abstract :
This paper makes an analysis of the inter-accident intervals which are from four divisions of the British Coal Board by bootstrap method. It is carried out from two perspectives: data pre-processing and bootstrap analysis. The conclusions below have been obtained: Firstly, Most of the coal accidents happen in the interval of 0–20 days in all four divisions. Secondly, it is sufficient to estimate the mean and variance by bootstrap method. Thirdly, the bootstrapping result shows that division 3 is the safest division, but it also needs strengthen its safety management.
