Abstract
A ferrite-wire NRI medium, recently introduced by Dewar, has been demonstrated. In contrast to most conventional NRI structures, the negative magnetic response is provided by the spin-atomic scale of the ferrite, while the wire electrical response is still of a larger scale, and may be tuned by a variable bias field. Two applications have been suggested, a fixed-frequency beam steering antenna and a real-time spectrum analyzer.
