  • Abstract
    In this paper we resort to a kind of Monte Carlo simulation in order to determine the statistics of signal to interference plus noise ratio on the forward link of a frequency hopped TDMA cellular radio system. This simulation is based on a simple but well founded model, already introduced in our previous works where we determined by analytical and numerical means the statistics of signal to interference plus noise ratio for the reverse link. The forward link direction does not lend itself as easily to a completely analytical and numerical study so there is the need to resort to a “mathematical” simulation. Statistics for the reverse link are also found in this paper and compared to our previous numerical results associated with this link direction. We finally mention that we mainly consider in this paper a FH-TDMA cellular system with a single cell frequency reuse pattern (a cluster size K=1)
