Abstract :
Illegal routing information may have disastrous effects on the normal work of the network. Therefore, most of the modern routing protocols support authentication of routing information in the routing level to ensure the reliability of the information. This paper describes the two authentication modes of RIPv2, analyzes the realization mechanisms and PDU formats. Based on GNS3, a typical network topology is designed, and with the aid of it we carry out functional verification and security analysis. Experimental results show that the configuration of RIPv2 routing authentication can effectively prevent the router from receiving unauthorized or malicious routing updates, thereby improving network safety.
