Abstract :
This paper presents a novel solution to feed power converters under unbalanced voltage supply conditions-a novel transformer topology. As a result of its application, noncharacteristic harmonics produced by the power converters are reduced. This new topology is based upon a special transformer called ADZ and its development as a voltage imbalance compensator. EMTP simulation illustrates improved performance and shows close agreement with theoretical modeling, comparing conventional and ADZ topologies. Finally, the paper also presents an analysis of the impact of voltage unbalance factor (VUF) in the power converter´s harmonic generation through different levels and types of unbalanced voltage supply. It strongly contributes to show how powerful the proposed topology is
