Summary form only given, as follows. Over the past decade the use of laser technology has been incorporated in to many aspects of ophthalmology. The purpose of the talk is to acquaint scientists and engineers outside the medical community with the state of the art of laser applications in ophthalmology, in order to help identify future research opportunities.
