Abstract :
An implementation of a frequency domain RAKE receiver for a multi-carrier spread spectrum system is described and its performance is analysed using simulations for a fast fading Doppler channel. This receiver is compared with a conventional time domain RAKE receiver operated over the same channel. The two approaches have similar error rate performances, however, it was found that the multi-carrier system showed performance gains for a four path fading channel. With one and two path channels its performance was limited by the irreducible bit error rate introduced by the fast fading
