            Abstract :
This paper investigates the potential of the Cartesian feedback technique in linearising frequency-hopped (FH) transmitters for use in third generation mobile communication systems. Based on the results obtained from a transmitter hardware prototype (operating in the 215-225 MHz range), the practical problems resulting from a hopping carrier are discussed, and solutions to overcome such problems are presented
