Abstract
In a smart and flexible industrial setting where human operators co-produce together with robots and heavy machines the safety in, and testing of, programmed solutions becomes crucial. In this study we set up a camera monitoring safety system in a robot production cell and use exhaustive testing based on use cases and states to achieve a safe solution for co-production. The system as a whole is successfully evaluated, including human interaction, and live nail gun demonstrations. We conclude that the combination of strict handling of requirements, planning and testing in combination does allow for an industrially cost-effective and safe solution.
