Abstract :
In this work, we propose a broadband FPA pixel in form of a printed slot spiral antenna with an operation bandwidth of 500-900GHz. Moreover, the antenna impedance is carefully designed to match to that of the detector diode to exploit the maximum responsivity achievable. This broadband, high-sensitivity FPA will significantly speed-up the image acquisition times and allow THz imaging tools to be employed for real-time diagnostics of various tissue characteristics in the 500GHz-1THz range.
