Abstract :
The embedded video equipment plays a key role in video application. For real-time video communications, it is very important to minimize the end-to-end transmission delay. At present, few video encoders can reduce acquisition delay and buffer delay. For achieving the requirements of low delay and high efficiency, the improvement embedded video encoder architecture and low delay rate control algorithm is proposed in this paper. We modify encoder architecture from frame level to slice level, and build rate control model for slice, then finish bit allocation based on histogram of difference image. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce delay, smooth buffer fullness and improve video subjective quality
