Abstract :
This work analyzes different grid resolution and domains for numerical forecasts of wind energy injected in the electric grid by the wind farms “Emanuele Cambilargiu” and “Kentilux”, in Uruguay. The analysis shows that the optimal horizontal resolution for the wind farm installed in a flat plate terrain (Kentilux wind farm) is 3.3 km, and for more steep terrain (Emanuelle Cambilargiu wind farm), the optimal horizontal resolution is 1 km.
