Abstract
Overall frameworks of agent-based autonomous control of distributed satellite systems (DSS) are put forward. Till now, study on spacecraft autonomy at home and abroad is still in the early stage, and there are not any guidelines or frameworks to follow. We hold that it is necessary and feasible to adopt complex adaptive system (CAS) theory to instruct the research on autonomous control of DSS. The frameworks cover three aspects of theoretical foundations, technical routes and implementation methodologies. Basic concepts and kernel thoughts of CAS theory are introduced briefly; Main process to realize autonomy of DSS is discussed and Agent-based methods including design and evaluation method, modeling method, satellite autonomy architecture and autonomous mechanisms of physical and behavioral characteristics are investigated. Conclusions and future work schemes are given in the end
