Abstract :
Summary form only given. Improved operation of the fibre-loop based nonlinear pulse transformer by means of chirped pulse switching is reported. Pulse compression at a high repetition rate of 10 GHz is obtained, showing significant improvement over the previously achieved figure of 250 MHz.
