Abstract :
This paper analyzes the principle and the control methods of mitigating subsynchronous oscillation with SVC. Firstly, it establishes the simulation model, and elaborates the framework and the configuration of the model. Based on the subsynchronous oscillation modes of the system, the damping controller is designed. Also the harmonic characteristic of the SVC is analyzed. And based on the different disturbance types, the mitigation effects of SVC are simulated. The results show that, the SVC used in Hulun Buir power plant can mitigate the SSO phenomenon.
