Abstract
A new ray-tracing acceleration technique called TROyA (ray TRacing based on Octree and AZB) has been presented. This technique combines the benefits of two space subdivision algorithms: AZB and octree techniques. With this new technique, the computation time to create the AZB matrix has decreased in 50% during the geometry preprocessing phase in comparison with the AZB technique.
