Online platform for management, control and e-learning for Conservation-Restoration resources

As in any other field of activity and research, the Conservation-Restoration of monuments and artworks field has benefitted from the continuous advances in science, especially for the investigation and monitoring techniques. The recent developments in the information technology have also improved the means and precision of studying and preserving the Cultural Heritage. This paper describes a part of an ongoing project that intends to help the specialists, researchers and the students in the fields related to the protection and investigation of Cultural Heritage: conservation-restoration, history, archaeology. A web-based online platform that allows the experts that cannot be present at a specific site of investigation on field or classes of students from other locations or countries to be able to assist, learn and collaborate in real time with a mobile investigation laboratory equipped with modern investigation and monitoring devices and techniques.
