Abstract
As wind farms integrated into the grid become more and more massive and output power of wind farms is of fluctuation and uncertainty, the risk of power system blackouts has increased significantly. Wind farms need to participate in power system restoration after blackouts. Several aspects of power system restoration considering wind farms are presented in this paper, including the development of wind power technology, the target and constraints of wind farm restoration and the influence on load restoration. The output power of wind farms and the opportune moment to restore wind farms are the key factors to decide whether wind farms should be restored.
