Abstract :
A vacuum electronic device based on field emission mechanism for the generation or amplification of THz waves is proposed. The field emission electrons are bunching and synchronizing with THz wave through well-tailored metallic structures. Two types of interacting structures are considered. One is double-sided coupled cavity and the other is single-sided coupled cavity. The electric field patterns of the corresponding resonant modes of each circuit model is presented.
