Abstract
VAMOS (Voice services over Adaptive Multi-user channels on One Slot) technique is the next step in the evolution of GSM voice services. The new method is based on the Adaptive QPSK scheme and VAMOS subchannel power control feature, which ensure that VAMOS is fully compatible with legacy mobiles. In this paper we propose a model for VAMOS network traffic. FR (full rate) and HR (half rate) users associated with legacy mobiles as well as VAMOS mobiles are considered. The model permits to evaluate the blocking probabilities as function of the penetration ratio.
