Abstract
The accurate estimate of carrier frequency offset is crucial for the reliable data detection. This paper proposes a new frequency offset estimation algorithm for the downlink of TD-SCDMA system. It exploits the midamble of downlink time slots to provide maximum-likelihood (ML) estimate of the frequency offset. As it eliminates the multipath interference, the algorithm has the ability to resist the frequency-selective fading. The simulation results show the algorithm achieves good performance in multipath fading environments with low computation complexity.
