Abstract
Explores the interpretations and applications of associative processing with the MUSIC MU9C1640 CacheCAM. Although its most obvious use is as a storage and search engine for sparsely populated databases of long words, it is actually the engine for associative processing or data dependent applications. Since this guide requires one to take a somewhat different perspective-that of associative processing rather than sequential processing-its intent is to energize the imagination of designers in the understanding and use of CAM hardware by the use of illustrative application examples, as the potential uses are limited only by the designer´s creativity
