Abstract :
We designed a +17.5 dBm variable-gain EDFA (20 to 28 dB) incorporating a dynamic gain equalizer (DGE). Its noise figure is maintained below 5.2 dB and its gain flatness is better than 1 dB when operating from -5 to +65°C.
