Abstract :
This paper proposes a Java-based middleware architecture supporting IEEE 1394 and TCP/IP for a digital home entertainment network. The proposed architecture is able to provide interoperability between a IEEE 1394-based service and a TCP-based service and accommodates the multimedia service requirements in a home network environment having various protocols and devices.
