Abstract :
This paper establishes the possibility of chaotic oscillations in power system networks for a certain choice of its load parameter value. The study has been performed on two sample power system networks. On load tap changer dynamics and static VAr system dynamics have been studied. Two Hopf bifurcations and a saddle node bifurcation have been observed. Lyapunov exponents have been computed to establish chaotic oscillations which have been represented through a bifurcation diagram
