Abstract :
This paper aims at presenting results from investigations related to the performance of VSI-PWM frequency converter under both balanced and unbalanced voltage sag conditions. Not only computational analysis using a comprehensive model implemented into the SABER simulator but also practical studies are presented. The later uses a commercial type of converter and a programmable power quality disturbance source. Using both the theoretical and practical ways of considering the equipment performance under voltage sag conditions, several situations are investigated to assess the equipment behavior and its ride-through capability.
